Equipment

  • Crock-Pot Express

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Penne Pasta
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Rinse off the pasta in a strainer and place in pressurecooker.
  • Add water, salt, and olive oil.
  • Set the Crock Pot Express to Beans/Chili and set it for low.For Instant Pots, set your device to Manual/Low.
  • The time depends on the box. You’ll set it to half of thetime listed on the box. That’s easy to figure out for even numbers.
For odd numbers, you’ll round down. So, if your box sayscook between 11-13 minutes, you’ll cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Once it beeps let it rest for about one minute and then quick release to prevent overcooking.

Notes

You may experience a little bit of foaming when you do a quick release. This is normal because pasta has a high starch content.
There will be a little water left in the pot, so you’ll strain the pasta. I also like to rinse it under cold water for a minute or so to stop the pasta from cooking and to rinse off the excess starch
