About Your Coach

Hi, I’m Heather McDaniel. I’m well-versed in the highs and lows of the fitness journey. I spent years trying everything from Crossfit to adopting a plant-based diet to find that one thing that worked.

I found that one thing was self-mastery, along with bucking the latest trends. That’s how I became a fitness and nutrition coach. I started Happy Mediterranean Life as an extension of my work as a nutrition coach. It’s a great way to share my Italian roots while living in Spain.

How long does the program last?

I strongly recommend starting out with a 3-month commitment. After that, you can go month-to-month.

Do You Only Offer Nutrition Coaching?

No, I offer nutrition coaching and online fitness coaching through.

How much does it cost?

The programs range from $179/month – $249/month. Apply now and have a consultation to decide which program is the best fit for your needs.

How do you incorporate the Mediterranean Diet in coaching?

You’ll see a lot of crossover between the Mediterranean Diet and my work. I advocate for nutrient-dense, whole foods, lean proteins, and limiting processed foods. I’m also a proponent of slowing down like you’re eating by the Mediterranean. I teach clients how to do the same in their chaotic lives. 

Do you have to do the Mediterranean diet?

No. I’m diet agnostic. My work revolves around behavioral change rather than dictating what to eat. 

Do you do meal plans for clients?

No. My work with clients revolves around behavior-based coaching. It’s also outside my scope of practice. Meal planning should only get done by Registered Dieticians.

How long does it take to see results?

It depends. There are a lot of factors at work. Your program, your starting point, genetics, and nutrition, are just some of the factors that help you see results. Clients usually start to feel more energized after a couple of weeks, and then start to see noticeable changes in the first 4-6 weeks.

Do you guarantee results?

I don’t guarantee results simply because there are too many variables that I can’t control. What I do guarantee is my commitment to you. You have my 100% to help you achieve your goals.

If I sign up for fitness coaching, do I need to join a gym or get special equipment?

If you already have a gym membership, that’s fine, but you don’t need to join a gym. I can design your program for at-home workouts. The beauty of customized workouts is that they are tailored to where you are and what you have available.

We can make do with all bodyweight workouts, but you may get bored after a while. I do recommend some basic equipment, like a mat, minibands, and dumbbells or kettlebells.

Do I need to go on a special diet?

Absolutely not! I work with you to build sustainable habits over time to reconnect with food in a healthy way.

Do I need to download special software?

Yes, you need to download Trainerize, which is how I deliver your programs. It’s free and available for iOS and Android devices.

How do I begin?

Start by filling out an application. I’ll reach out to you via email within 24 business hours to schedule a conversation, where we’ll decide if online fitness coaching with me is the best fit for you.

Can’t I just watch and follow workouts on YouTube??

Of course, you can. Here’s the thing. There are millions of articles, blog posts, videos, all of which are free for you to use.

If you can get results with them, why hasn’t it happened for you yet? The videos don’t hold you accountable. You can’t talk to the coaches. The workouts aren’t tailored to your needs.
The free workouts you see online don’t give you a comprehensive program designed with your goals in mind.

What do email and office hour support look like?

I have regular office hours on Thursday from 2-4 pm CEST. This is a time I’m available for clients to contact me with questions and support. Clients also can send me one email a week. I handle emails on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

What if you sign up and decide that the program isn’t right for you? That’s OK. I have a cancellation policy.
Clients on a month-to-month or quarterly program need to give 30 days’ notice to cancel. The cancellation does need to be written (email is fine, too).

If you decide that online coaching isn’t for you in the first month, you have 7 days to let me know for a full refund.

After 7 days, you’ll get a 50% refund. This applies to the first month of training only. After the first month, the 30-day notice rule applies.
